So let me get this straight you put chaps on and you feel gay Hmmmmm.
Or is it whem you look at men in chaps you feel gay?
I wear chaps when the weather is cold NOT for protection from the asphalt. And I don't feel gay at all.
Not that there is any thing wrong with you feeling gay.
So.... tell me what else makes you feel gay and how long have you been
feeling these gay tendencies?

Ahem, When I wanted to size my chaps I went to a local Harley dealer and tried on a few pairs. I was'nt about to buy any there as they are way overpriced. But I will say they did seem to be very high quality.
Then knowing my size I ordered from Denniskirk.com.
As for wearing them yes a lot of people think Village People. I usually wear armoured pants(or trousers if you wish), heavy jeans or Icon jeans with armor(or armour if you prefer). But when I ride my bike to work since I have to wear a uniform the chaps are much easier to deal with. If I wore any of the others' I'd have to get to work even earlier(I get up at 4:15 AM every day). So the chaps are more convienient.
And I only wear them without pants on really hot days..

US Made Leathers is the best. I have a pair, so does my wife and so does my good friend Lee.
We all swear by them for comfort, warmth, fit, strength and looks. They are top of the line and will custom make them for you at a very reasonable price.

If wearing chaps or seeing men in chaps makes you feel gay then the issue is with YOU and not the chaps.

Makes sense! I have a pair of Aerostitch Roadcrafter overpants that I zip up over my street clothes at such times.

Of course, I don't cruised as much. ;-)

my 2 cents is that chaps aren't gay, but the models that sell them look uber-gay so we all make that connection automatically.

Personally, I'm in the market for a pair of chaps before winter comes along because my bonnie is my only source of transportation and it's friggin' cold when you're riding to work and the sun hasn't risen yet.

A good source of wind-breakage and warmth on the legs that doesn't require taking off your shoes seems like a perfect solution to me.

plus I can pretend I'm a cowboy!
ok, that was gay.

I have no problem with wearing chaps, although I wear them infrequently. In my little part of the world, it can be very cold in the morning, and the chaps feel good when worn over my Draggin jeans. By noon, they are easy to take off and take up little space in the saddlebags. It's a layering thing, and as long as I stay warm and comfortable, I really don't give a dam about what other have to say.

Not sure how warm these are but they look like they offer some protection without any Village People flashbacks... Colorado Chaps
