So after my last long summer ride I decided it was finally in dire need of a real riding jacket, and not my fully lined Wilson's jacket anymore. Nearly died in the heat.
I'm not a brand purist, I didn't /have/ to have a Triumph jacket, but the more of them I tried on vs others at the local shops, I really liked their fit. Tried a Fox Creek, and it just was a bit tight. Tried some other's and none were comfy as the Triumphs.
I narrowed it down to the Genetix Leather and that Westbourne. Finally got to a store that had my sizes and found that the Westbourne was a better fit. So far, I've only worn it on rides around town, but I can say that it definately fits the bill for a good summer leather. I didn't realize the sleeves are perforated all the way through, so on a morning ride it was actually a little cool with the liner removed. It has zippered vent's from below the elbow almost to the arm pit, so there is plenty of ventilation to be had.
The sleeves are a tiny bit long for me, which is a first, being a lanky 6'2". When bent in riding position they are just about perfect. . . I wear gauntled gloves, so those hold back the wrists just right. The zippers on the cuffs are tight, and don't pucker up. It fits perfect under my gauntlets for a good windproof seal. . .no sleeves riding up above the gloves on this one.
The armor feels like it might be a touch too low in the elbow, but only negligably so. I haven't dug around inside to see if the pockets are adjustable at all yet.
The chest pockets are a little high for easy access, but really I don't put anything in those normally that I need to access a lot. . . Just stuff I want to keep safe like my house keys.
So, for what it's worth, on a 6'2", 160lb frame the size 50 westbourne is a great fit, super comfy, and the workmanship appears to be excellent.
I'm going for a ~500 mile ride this sunday, and if my opinion changes at all after than, I'll update the review.
Cheers,
