I don`t know if this is an old product but it`s new to me. It`s, and I quote, "A safe effective and invisisble protective shield for your motorbike`s paintwork needs. A unique, abrasive resistant film which protects against, stones, insects and wear and tear."

The product is basically a film which can be applied to headlights (light skins) or paintwork (body skins) to protect from damage. I`ve got it on the headlights of my Speed Triple and it is practically invisible and gives excellent protection from flying stones. I`ve also applied it on top of the tank of my 675, as I have a magnetic tankbag and this stops it marking the paint. My wife has a Monster S2R with an offset stripe on the tank. We didn`t want to use a tank protector, because it would break up the stripes so we used body skinz instead, which protect the tank from her leather jacket rubbing.

This is a great product. I`m very impressed. The 'light skinz' cost $25 Aus, for a sheet big enough to the lights on all 3 bikes, and $25 for a sheet of 'body skinz' which did the tanks on 2 bikes. To put it into perspective, a Triumph c/f tank protector is $75.

It`s a bit fiddly to fit, you have to make stencils with tracing paper, cut it to match and use a hairdryer to get it to fit into the curves and indentations. I was never very good at all that craft stuff and get a bit impatient but I`m sure those who take their time would do a better job than me. By the time I did the third bike (675) I was starting to get the hang of fitting the stuff. I can`t give you any pictures, as it`s invisible!

Here`s a link to the website, which seems to be almost finished.
Altrex

I`ve seen it on e-bay quite a lot and Australians can buy it at supercheap auto.

Is it similar to the 3M protector, or the Tank Slapper stuff?
