I'm a big fan of leather for both its wind blocking ability and protection, but I wear my textile gear, especially pants, much more frequently. The lower weight and greater flexibility of textile gear makes it more comfortable to wear and no leather gear is ever sufficiently cool above 70 -75 degrees Fahrenheit. Lately, I've been trying to buy hybrid gear that combines textiles with leather in the high abrasion areas. Unfortunately, hybrid leather pants are hard to find.
