I don't have a ton of experience with their products, but they generally get good reviews. I just bought a Dainese jacket this week and love it. It's comfortable, fits great and actually pretty breezy for hot weather riding considering it's seems a lot more durable than a mesh jacket.

Their stuff is definitely expensive but (so far) worth it imo. It's a world of difference from my Teknic and Alpinestars jackets. I would go check them out.

I own 3 Dianese jackets : Arizona, Laguna Seca and a mesh jacket all with the back protector. I also have the boots, 2 pair of gloves and textile pants from them. I love the stuff. It fits better than any other brand I tried and is made to higher quality standards. What really sold me was the technical advice I got from the local shop (MCC here in Chicago). The guy knew everything about the product and could describe in detail all the differences between the Joe Rocket and Alpinestars stuff and the Dianese. In addition, if you look carefully at the back protector from other jacket brands they are cheap pieces of foam compared the even the lowest end Dianese (Back Space) that is tested to the same standards as the shoulder and elbow pads.

Even though it is a stretch financially, I would buy the Dianese.
