Armor Placement?

Perhaps not the proper forum. If not, I apologize.

Bought a Tourmaster Transition 2 jacket yesterday. My first experience with armor. The elbow and forearm armor seem to be placed just right. The shoulder armor is a one piece cup (each side) that fits just below the natural slope of my shoulder. Should be fine for a side blow but the "point" of the shoulder is not protected. That cup should be positioned from the point of the shoulder sloping down to the outside of the shoulder/upper arm shouldn't it?

Thanks for any enlightenment . . .

Darn...I thought this post was going to be more about converting a bonnie to a WMD rather than an inquiry about body armor.

The upper shoulder cup should cover most of your deltoids on the lateral side and extend up & over the attachment point for the clavicle on the medial side.

Cheers,

I took the cup out and fit it to my shoulder - it only covers the deltoids, doesn't come up and over at all.

I'll see if I can find shoulder armor that covers that area and then see if it will fit in the jacket's shoulder pocket.

Thanks.
