I wear traditional rocker gear, including a classic leather jacket with studs, patches, paint and all, plus the boots, scarf, etc...
When it's cold, I layer. Wear a wool sweater under the jacket.
If it's raining, I avoid riding (hate cleaning the bike). However I treat all my leather with Snow Seal, which uses beeswax. It not only protects the leather, but makes it waterproof.
If I have to ride in very cold/wet weather and can't load the bike in the van, I wear my waterproof snowmobile suit. It's ugly but does the job.
