How fast is too fast?
I've enjoyed every minute aboard my t-100, but lately I've discovered I have a need for speed...
Let me be clear...
This only happens when I look around and notice the following things: VERY little or no traffic. Good, straight roads. Good light. Good weather.
I feel fine, and enjoy riding "sensibly" around town and in traffic, but I'm struggling to fight the urge to twist the throttle and really go when I'm all alone on a stretch of road.
It feels sooooo good. The wind and the sound of the engine fading beneath it, the possibility of a ticket, the danger- The thrill is impossible to describe.
I had a less than stellar day at work today, for example. Stressful, boring, ordinary, plain. A "fast" run that probably only lasted a few minutes over 3 highway exits fully rejuvinated me- a better remedy for the work-a-day doldrums than 10 cups of coffee.
Normal?

I know there have been times I hit 90+, maybe as much as 100mph for a few seconds, but you're right, eyes on the road the whole time. Probably not "fast" by sportsbike standards, but felt like light speed to me on the t-100...
Mind you, I'd never dare try that in even light traffic, and don't feel the "need" creeping in when in traffic- but when you're all by yourself...

My Triple won't go much faster than that either. Without any wind protection, that's fast enough.
Other than the police, we have deer here in Michigan that you have to watch out for. Are there any critters that will run out in Florida?

Indicated: 71 mph on my wife's Piaggio MP3, 135 mph on my S3, 141 mph on my S4, and 171 mph on my Blackbird. All scared me enough to say "Never again."
Don't get me wrong. I dig speed but anybody can go fast on a straightaway. The real riders carry the speed through the corners. I'm still working up to be a real rider.

I've been north of 140 on my Speed Triple and with no flyscreen I was damn near being blown off the bike, lol. On my old Hayabusa 180+ was normal on deserted roads. Of course all this is purely fictional and I never break the speed limit.
