Hit and run: the final insult

This hits close to home because it *is* close to home, just down the street:

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/Mo...256/story.html

The circumstances here are particularly disheartening: the early hour (very light traffic), a safety-conscious rider (a high-viz jacket shown in other media photos, said to be the riders, though it looks suspiciously like police issue). The cager who fled the scene after killing him; this really awakens the rage in me. Emoticons really can't touch it.

Stay sharp people.

Update: They tracked down the auto driver pretty quickly and arrested him.

Terrible news, at that time in the morning the traffic would have been light, did someone run a red ? The intersection camera should have the details. Are helmets compulsory in Canada ? from the riders injuries it would appear he may not have been wearing one.

Helmets are mandatory in Canada. None of the reports indicated what type of helmet he had on.
