another case of an a$$hole driver who should be shot.
so here i am cruising around on a beautiful wednesday afternoon in vegas, with our currently flawless weather of about 79 degrees, 230 in the afternoon, rush hour hasn't set in yet...
when i'm in my cage, i'm a very attentive driver, and since i've started riding i notice i take special steps to ensure that i'm not about to harm any fellow riders around me.
when i'm on my bonnie, i'm super DEFENSIVE...i don't allow myself to get in blind spots, never speed on the urban roads, always ride in the far left when possible, always prepare for action when there's a car in oncoming traffic making a left in front of me, etc....
so i'm having a grand old time cruising about 45mph when some jerk off in an SUV comes outta no where and takes my lane and comes about 6 inches away from side swiping me.
i begin honking at this retard, and he drives past me and proceeds to give me the finger and yell some random junk as if it was my fault that he came into my lane?
we encountered each other for a bit at a red light. he was at the crosswalk, and i was two cars behind him. and this idiot proceeds to hang his head out the window and look back at me and signal me to pull up as if he wanted to fight or something? i was totally gonna memorize his liscence plate and report him later cuz vegas is infamous for dropping tickets to drivers like that in the mail, but unfortuneatly he didn't have his rear plate on.
what a retard, this country seriously needs to make it harder to get a drivers liscence, and they need to hammer MUCH harder on road violations to get idiots like this off the roads....i believe in karma though, so hopefully this dude will like fall asleep driving and go careening off a cliff or something...
it's stuff like this that no longer makes me want to use the bike as a commuter, but only a strict pleasure weekend rider...there's just too many irresponsible drivers on the road and no one is paying attention!!!

I deal with crap like this quite often during my daily commute. People are just nuts, it is best to stay far away from fools like this. There was a motorcyclist who was shot (not killed) in Kentucky a while back during a road rage incident, but in that case the idiot biker approached the offending idiot cager at a light.

You know,
While I don't advocate violence, side mirrors have been know to "snap off" mysteriously when in close proximity to a motorcycle.
Kinda weird don't you think? :

Confronting a jerk weed in a vehicle w/ no license plate sounds dangerous. Glad things didn't escalate.

I like to believe that ignorance is what creates those kind of people, and a honest conversation can (every once in a while) fix that. Maybe i'm just young and overly optimistic haha.
on another note, i've also heard some tire weights have been known to ward off tailgaters... we can't be blamed for what our tires may have kicked up...

After getting cut off for the second time in 2 months and having to create emergence skid marks on the pavement and other regions. I now carry a length of heavy chain in my saddlebags. ( we all have to be able to lock up our bikes don't we?) Next one that comes close to killing me will not have a back windshield. If I'm able to walk afterwords.

DO NOT THROW THINGS, I have been hit in the chest by things another rider threw at a car behind him. It looked like marbles or ball bearings, and damn near took me off my bike, my chest and neck was covered in huge bruises, luckily it didn't hit my helmet cause I don't think the visor could have taken more than one hit.
Think about all the innocent people behind them that is going to get peppered by whatever you throw.

You are right, but its so hard to aim a gun properly on a moving bike especially behind you. (only kidding) If you have the time, calmly following the person to his house and then waving does much to unnerve them. No threats, just let them know you know where they live.

I approach drivers at lights all of the time. I simply can't help it. However, the infraction has to be fairly severe...a driver presuming that my riding to one side of the lane is an invitation to just come on over is one such infraction.
To date, the only sort of violence directed at me after me confronting them was some idiot who punched my helmet. That's right. He punched my full-faced lid. His three buddies laughing at him was enough to satisfy me, and I sped off.
I understand that I'm likely to be shot one of these days. That likelihood notwithstanding, I just can't let some of this stuff go. I'm not talking about people who fail to see me. That's human error. I'm referring to the people who actively disregard my life. You know what? That pisses me off, and you're going to know as much at the next intersection.
edit - whoops...it appears that I've joined in dredging up an old thread. Sorry
