Laguna Seca '08 - Help Needed

Planning a trip up to Monterey (from San Diego) for the MotoGP race in July. Will be camping at Kings Canyon and Yosemite the first two nights on the way up, but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a camping spot or cheap hotel (ok for bikes) within 40 miles or so of the track....Thanks in advance.

Have you tried the Laguna Seca Web site...? They have camping at the event from motorcycle/tent one night only on up to RV spots... fills up quick

Yup, thanks. Found that right after I posted this.....I had no idea. That would be great if we can get one of those tiny little sites (just for two bikes and sleeping bags) for Friday and Saturday.....

I don't think camping will be a problem. Most are expecting the attendance to be down quite a bit at Laguna this year. Indy will take a lot of folks from the Laguna race but the big news is that WSB is back in the US at Miller at the end of May/June 1. Most of the people I know are riding there rather than Monterey.
