As many of you know, Bud Ekins passed away last month. There will be a memorial on Sunday, Dec. 2nd at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank to honor his life and the enormous contribution Bud made to the sport motorcylcing.

I didn't know much about him other than reading about how he put uncountable miles on a old trumpet. But at the brit bike show this sunday at hansen dam in so cal, his bike was displayed. My god !!! That thing looks like it's been ridden 300 miles a day for several thousand years ! Every part is rusted and there are hoses and all kinds of odd junk attached to it. It's like a junkyard on wheels ! There was a plaque on it describing the history. Incredible that anyone could ride a bike into the ground to that degree. It was also funny all the weird junk he'd attached to it.

I'll be going too. Probably meet with a group of folks at Johnson Motors in Pasadena.
Dont know if I'll ride my Bonnie or Sprint... considering it's mostly highway riding, propably the Sprint

Sorry I missed you too. There must have been at least 50 bikes at Jomo! What a great event! Were you able to see the screening on the WB lot? I had a great time. The highlight for me was I shook hands with Steve McQueen's wife. The new Bud Ekins commemorative Scrambler was awesome too. I'm glad I went, to honor Bud and meet some great people.

Can't wait to see your pics.

I'm so glad to hear the event went well and there was a big turn out. We moved from Sierra Madre to NC in June and was visiting L.A. when he passed. Actually it was Levi at JoMo that told us and that they planned an event to honor him. I really wish I could've been there.

Levi is a great guy. He got me into the Pasadena Motorcycle Club. I'll let him know you say hello.
