I'm ready!
LoVel is making an early trip up there to scout the territory for everyone. With 6 months notice, there is no excuse for not having all of the best roads mapped out for the visitors here. I am planning to take 2 weeks vacation, for the ride up there and back, so this is turning into a real event for me.
Thanks for the spark that started all of this, whisperinsmith.

Seems like the thanks needs to be spread pretty far here. So, I will just throw out my broad reaching, "THANKS!!! Great idea!"
I am in and I bet I could round up some Trumpets from central VA storm in. And I hear the Maine posse will head over too. Ah, it will be nice to back back up north.
We should coordinate a ride up for those coming from points south.
I wasnt at the Stowe event but was the referrenced, "Hank" on an S3? If so, I am familiar with "Hank".

I take the ferry to Bridgeport and ride up 8, then over 20 to 7 to get to my parent's in VT. It's a nice ride.
Edit: Or go west to 22 and north on that...

Benny - I just came back from a 100 mile R/T with the wife today which included RT 22
We headed up North through the back roads of Stamford, through Bedford into Mt Kisco then further North into Katonah, then further North to 138 which brought us around the Titicus Reservoir where we decided to begin the ride back vis Cross River and Pound Ridge returning through the back door of Stamford. It was a little cold on the legs and hands but otherwise another beautiful late Fall ride.
I have many routes that journey the back roads of upstate NY & CT that can lead back into RT 7 but I figured that the 40 min from the beginning of RT 7 in Norwalk to Danbury is a good straight route if we get a fairly large pack heading North. Hopefully, you will be able to assemble a nice pack from the Island of Long and converge with us Lower CT Rat's. BTW - I was born in Mineola and lived in Rockville Center for the first 10 years of my life - a mere 39 years ago!

oyster we are already working on coordinating a ride from as far south as birmingham. I'm stopping to pick up rndtaylor somewhere in TN. i think we are planning on taking three days to get there. if not I would be putting in over 600 a day and I would rather enjoy it a little more. I'm trying to get bonniegirl to meet us at our day 2 campsite wherever that may be and ride in with us on or last leg. she may be too busy but rndtaylor and I will work on it. any one coming from AL TN VA is welcome to meet us somewhere and make it a party.
I should also have a little local knowledge when we get there since bonniegirl has promised me at least a little bit of time to show me around. The best places to eat drink and be merry and such.

Converging!
Any of you Rebel Southerners are welcome to converge with us Yankees as you cross the Hudson River. I am very familiar with many routes up that way. From lower Fairfield County in CT it is a mere 150 mile run to Bennington. Maybe 4 hours or so - if we enjoy the scenery and stop for gas and eats.

The one and only I pick on him about needing a rope ladder, or like a phone book or something to get up on his bike
HFG, as we get closer, I'll keep you posted on my plans. Depending on the times, I may head over to a friend's house the night before, or whatever. Or I may even go up early to already be there. Depends on the planning and if they need help, cause I'd be happy to help setup.
I'll definitely be rounding up some BA/SM troops for the ride!! Already got a half dozen interested.
Someone bring a camera!!

Oh, boy, this should be interesting. I put back a few with Hanky-baby at the 05 Maine Euro Meet. Yeah, this will be fun.
LoVel, I saw the beginnings of a ride up forming and would be interested. A 600 mi day is doable, but backroads off the slab is my preferrence.

oyster, rndtaylor and I are wanting to avoid the slab unless we just have to make time. he already has some ideas about some roads getting out of TN and I am going to get some more ideas from bonniegirl on when we get closer to Bennington unless we can get her to show up and show us the way

Our route is completely fluid at this point, 6 months out. I really like hwy 421 in upper east tenn, even though its been several years since Ive been on it. I think we should spend some time with Mare in Rappahannock co, Va.,if we can, and she can accomodate us. Maybe we can drag her along. I would like to take a different route up there, and back, if we can.
We are open to all suggestions, and anyone who wants to go with us. Be aware that me n LoVel have pretty much the same sense of humor, so we might need yall to keep some bail money handy.
