Los Angeles "spring Training" Suspension Tuning Meet

Hi folks,
I was thinking it would be of use to have a suspension tuning day- just the simple stuff like measuring/setting sag, maybe a little tweaking of the damper settings, setting ride height for those with aftermarket shocks, etc. For some reason, the suspension systems on bikes are often treated like black magic (the fastest color of magic) that should be set once and forgotten, or even worse, left at stock settings. Maybe we can meet up, ride, share some knowledge (I know the basics but I'm definitely not a professional), and get everyone's springs sorted out a little better or identify where they need further help if something is maxed out.

Date: Saturday 10/06/07
Time: 9AM (departing by 9:15ish)
Start: Jay's Shell Station 4530 Angeles Crest Hwy, La Canada Flintridge, CA 91011 (see map link)
Destination: Newcomb's Ranch
map:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...,0.458679&z=12

We would ride up to Newcomb's Ranch where there's a big parking lot (and breakfast and coffee), hang out and tinker with the suspension, and do test rides on the twisties up there to refine the new settings. I'll bring a few necessary tools. I'll hang around up there for a few hours so anyone who wanted to come later could just meet at Newcomb's. I'm going to cross-post this to some other forums as well so we'll probably have some other bikes show up too. (posting to speed triple, VFR, and SVrider forums)...

Cheers,
Zohar

Hey Zohar, long time no see. I'll probably be at Newcomb's on Sat., but with my other bike, as I'm getting the new exhaust put on Saturday morning. I had the S3's suspension done by a professional suspension tuner a few months ago, and it feels very nice, so I won't be touching it.

How much for professional tuning?

What does it cost for a professional tuning?

ZMan,

Great idea! Gonna have to miss this one - have a dogfighting session over the pacific that morning thanks to my lovely wife. Maybe next time!

Have fun and maybe if you are up that way Sunday I'll see you.

Howdy,
looks like there are a few joining from the other forums- if you're able to make it, I'll see you in the morning.
Cheers,

Good ride today- light turnout from the Triumph crowd but plenty of VFRs and a SV1000 showed. 11 in all, I think. No tickets despite one cruiser trying to tag us (the radar detector works though). We'll do it again soon!
