It's that time of the year again.

As usual, I plan on doing some charity work on Dickson Street, but am planning our own group ride on the morning of Saturday Oct 6.

My brother is coming up from Texas with a group of folks, not sure if they will all want to ride, but if they do it will be a mix of BMW, Harley, and Yamaha bikes. Also going to reach out to the locals who haven't come along in a while.

I don't want to hear any jaw-jacking about the prominent Harley presence. I get out in this every year with some sort of sportbike. Sure, it's just minutes from my house, but that's life

It's not the Harleys, it's the drunken idiots riding them. And why do they have to remove any semblance of a muffler?
Sorry to rain on your parade, but the "rally" thing just isn't me. We just had one down here.

If everyone managed to arrive/leave safely and getting plastered was their only to-do, the event would probably experience fewer incidents.

I know a few whose only plans for Saturday are to get dropped of at Dickson St and have a cab take them home after midnight. Then there are others who want to do nothing more than ride a couple poker runs and gun their exhausts before hitting the bar.

What I'm not sure of is how the demo runs, and the ZZTop Concert, will change things.

However, there will be several thousand bikes, of all kinds, out on the roads. Most of them will be out-of-towners who need some role models on how to ride in Arkansas

ZZtop is awesome in concert. I haven't seen them since Recycler in '90 or '91.
We did two ERCs the weekend of the Hot Springs Rally. A total of 9 people showed up. The rally crowd ain't us, Shawn.

I'll be out there, starting on Friday afternoon (early in the afternoon, if schedule permits). My goal is to ride with a buddy and his Dad for a couple hours, then go hang out and drink for a while, play some Golden Tee to sober up, and ride home. It's an all day affair. My other goal is to make sure I don't screw up and put a lean into some Bandido's scooter when I park. As long as all these goals are met, I'll have a great time.

I'll be on the very safe side of sober before I dig my keys out of my pocket. Worse comes to worse, I live 5 miles from Dickson, so a cab is easy (done it before, and felt no shame in that at all; better than getting a free ride from Johnny law isn't it?!)

Looks like I'll be the designated driver this year so I won't be hangin out to late at night.

In addition to Shaunlee, myself, and the group from Texas, there is one other NWA individual that I know will be joining us (rides a Hayabusa).

I've either spoken or left messages with a few others, no other confirmations yet.

Right now, the plan is for Saturday Morning is 8:00 AM at Rick's Doughnuts.

Ride whatever you prefer. There will be a mix of bikes.

Saw only one Triumph there tonight, a red Daytona 955i.
