great ride
thanks guys - it was really cool meeting everyone. next time i'll know better than to show up with my brooklyn grime - everyone else's bikes looked in top form.
wish i could tell you how many miles i clocked, but i've so brainwashed myself to reset my odometer that i did it at every gas-up. i reckon it's in the 260-275 range. i am WIPED OUT!!
"bomb diggity", huh dave? looks like your students affect your vocabulary too.
thank you, john, for putting this together. i'm in for next time too.

give the man a chance to develop them!! he forgot his digital camera, so like a champ, went and bought one of those disposable jobbies.

Missing Pictures?
I can assure that there were some taken. However not by I, I'm still old school with photography also. I'm still in the SLR film age. So hopefully they will get posted here.
Sorry you couldn't make it as I was looking forward to meeting a "local". Next time or before I hope.

Couldn't have asked for a better bike weekend!
This morning I woke up and looked on-line to see if there was anything going on in my vicinity, motorcycle wise. Low and behold, the Lost Wheels Motorcycle club was having its annual Poker Run starting right here in good ole' Fishkill. From the time I read it about on-line until registration closed was a little over an hour, so I was lucky it was within spitting distance!
The ride was a lot of fun and went through some beautiful country. We ended up at Canopus Lake park in Putnam county. There were probably about 500 bikes at the lake, 90% of the Harleys as you might imagine. There were 2 other Triumphs that I saw. An orange and white Bonneville and a blue America. I took the liberty of leaving a note on both of them, introducing the Hudson RATs and inviting them to shoot me an email.
I also brought my disposable camera and used up all the photos on it, so I'll get those transfered over to electronic form and get the ones from the ride yesterday posted ASAP.
I kept the route card from the poker run, and I would certainly recommend it for a RAT ride. Great scenery, and some very nice twisties (especially Route 24).

I'll second your great bike weekend comment!!!
I met up with "Jhtjon" for another nice ride today. We road pieces of some of the roads from the Saturday ride. However he knew some secondary roads that were a real pleasure to ride with nice scenery and LOTS of twisties.
I won't even try to tell you where we were except that we came out at the Pond Eddy bridge on Rt 97 along the Delaware River and followed it south to Port Jervis.
