HFG- good call on the leaf changing. Can't ride this weekend - heading to Vermont for the 3 day weekend. Week after definitely.

We have a date & route (be very, very afraid)!

Sports fans, try this one on for size:

Meet up at 9:30 - AM at the Mobil at Jct of Rte6 and 9 (by traffic circle outside of Peekskill) for intro`s and gas (large parking area, plenty of room). From there over 6 and enjoy the twisties, up 9W and a stop at Rockwell Cycles (local Triumph dealer) to say hi, let some folks pick up a thing or two if they want.

We then make our way northwest to Wurtsboro and stop at a nice biker stop bar/grill called Danny`s. Gas Station across the Street. This is about 2 hours into our trip from Rockwell.

Leave Danny`s and travel north to Napanoch/Kerhonkson then east through Lake Minnewaska area and around through New Paltz where we can pick up either 9W or take Rte 32 back towards Newburgh. Once in Newburgh those from the city can go down Rte87 NYS Thruway or Take 84 over the bridge. We can also pick up 9W in Newburgh. From Danny`s back is another hour and a half. If we eat lunch at 12:30ish and get on the road by 2PM we are back in Newburgh by 3:30 and everyone can head their own way. In the city within an hour and a half (should give everyone plenty of time to get home before the deer come out to play).

How about the primary date of Saturday the 8th, with Sunday the 9th being the back-up rain date.

If this is as fun as it should be, we can look at hitting a similar route in October after the leaves change.

Since there are a few of you coming from quite a distance (NewOldSkool from Ft. Drum, you're the man!) let me know if you want to get a hotel room Fri/Sat night. I can get a deep discount rate at a hotel I do business with in Fishkill (across the river from Newburgh, close to I-87 & I-84 intersection.

6 & 9 are all over the map in that area...can you show it on a google map or just get the address (not familiar with peekskill)?

Map of meet-up location

For any of you who are not familiar with the Peekskill area, attached is a map of the meet-up location (Mobil Gas station on Roa Hook Road). The address is 98 Roa Hook Road, Cortlandt Manor. However, if you type that in Mapquest, Google, etc, it will display as being about 1/2 mile up the road (red star on this map). Anyway, the gas station is located at the north-west end of the rotary (traffic circle) shown in the center of this map. Once you hit the rotary, you can't miss it!

By the way, this Mobil has a Dunkin Donuts inside, so if you miss breakfast we've got you covered (America Runs on Dunkin

If it is Sunday the 9th I'm in but I'm pre-committed on Saturday. It's no big deal I can meet up for the 2nd ride after the leaves change. Can we PLEASE plan the leaf changing October ride for a Sunday though - Saturdays are tough for me!

Thumbs up Correct!

MattRat is right - this is a very huge event with every kind of motorcycle there is! It would be the Cat's Ass if a Horde of Triumphs cruised in together! I am definitely in for any kind of meet up - the only problem with Marcus is that it starts early and by 12-1pm people begin to leave to go for their planned rides. This might be different since it is such a huge yearly event.
