Friday and Saturday July 6th and 7th - the factory semi with 20 2007 models of various types. There will be guided test rides on a 6 or 7 mile loop - nothing too exotic but a chance for people to see what each model is like. Ironically, Triumph wants these demo rides to be pitched at people who do NOT currently own a Triumph, but I choose to invite everyone. We do not take advance reservations (because it simply does not work) but there will be groups of ten out every half an hour on both days, led and trailed by members of our RAT Pack. The details of the hours will be posted soon or already are on www.cyclebarn.com. See ya there!

Cheers!

Dave-

What's involved in the test ride proceedure. I know CB does credit checks etc before you can test ride. . .is the same paperwork neccesary, or is this different since it's Triumph that is there with the bikes?

I've got a couple friends who are interested, and in the market, so we may well be there early saturday morning.

thanks!

Sorry for the delay - I was in eastern Washington for three days - 650 miles of bliss!

Anyway, our Triumph demo days use the new Triumphs the factory brings in a semi - 20 of them. Good news - we get to use their rules and not ours for demo rides. Bad news - theirs are a bit strict.

1. All riders must be over 25. (seems a bit high, don't you think?)
2. All riders must have a valid endorsement. (no argument there)

3. AND - this is to be a demonstration ride, not a track day or a sport bike free for all or a stunt fest. I presume that is not what you had in mind, but it is what Triumph's attorneys lose sleep over. To that end, each group is made up of 8 bikes, with a Cycle Barn of Triumph staff person or CB RAT member I know and trust on the front and last bikes. The course I have laid out is 6.9 miles long, and has a variety of roads and corners, but there is never really anywhere to go ballistic - intentionally. Most of the Triumph sport bikes have tell tales, and if the demo truck driver (Jesse by name - a fine fellow) chooses to, he can flick through a couple. If he finds a number he finds objectionable, he has the authority to end the event!

I know that sounds negative, but last year everyone who showed up got to ride evey model they wanted to - with a bit of a wait from time to time, and there were no complaints.

Of course, I am getting old, so there may have been complaints I've forgotten!

Off to clean 650 miles of bugs off my Speed Triple.

See y'all Friday or Saturday

I don't suppose you know if there'll be a Street-3 there?

At least one of my buddies is looking seriously at it.

For sure there will not be, sorry to say. There will be 20 of the 2007 models but the street triple will be a 2008.

I would hope we would have one for the show in December to at least show, but with Triumph nothing is ever certain.

To be fair, it is never certain with the others, either, with the exception of Harley.

Probably a pair of 675s, Sprints, Rocket Threes, Americas, Speedmasters, Bonnes, Bonne Scramblers, Speed Triples, plus a few more. Some of the multiples will have different combos of accessories, pipes, etc. That was the deal last year, which allowed me to discover that I(just me personally)
like the Rocket III with the stock pipes more than the other two with pipes.

And so on...
