Hey PA riders
Hey guys, some of us NYC/NJ riders may be heading into Eastern PA soon. We'll either come in via Stroudsburg or New Hope. Can you recommend some good roads once we get into PA? We're looking to do about 100 mile loop. Thanks.

some roads to avoid
I was in New Hope last weekend. I am not very familiar with the area, but on my way back home, I made the mistake of going on PA-179 to US-202 to US-263. Traffic and bumpy roads due to construction, plus not a ton of great scenery.
On the way up, I took the road along the Delaware River on the PA side. Not bad, but not great.
Maybe someone else will chime in who has been to New Hope more than one time!

Route 611 is a pretty good ride, especially once it gets up towards Easton were it winds along the Lehigh River. I know 611 runs down into Philly, but Im not exactly sure were near New Hope you would pick it up, im pretty sure its close though.

As I recall Route 32 is River Road. You can pick it up the first exit from I-95 South when you cross into PA.
That will take you all the way up to 611.
I'd check this place out while you in the area:
Ringing Rock Park

Here's one. Take 46 to Belvidere, NJ, cross the river there, and make the first right as soon as you cross the bridge. Keep following the river. You'll through Portland, Delaware Water Gap and at the light at the bottom of the hill there, make another right. When you reach the welcome center, make another right onto River Road and just keep going until it pours you out on 209 north. By that point, you wqill have done about 30 miles of glorious twisties with some gorgeous views. Hang a rigght on 209 north, and head up through Milford, and when you get to the other side of town, look for the road that goes to right and takes you to Shohola. Keep going and you'll cross the river again. Make a right, and you're on 94 about five miles west of Hawk's Nest. It's a great ride. I did it last weekend on my cabbie.

Good PA rides
Lemme know the next time you're meeting up with them, and I'll join you if you don't mind.
