Winterize
Not that i plan on doing it until i get frostbite, but anyone know how to do this properly? Would like to have a local seminar or something...
the thought came up because i have a $40 gift certif for motorcyclesuperstore, and am trying to decide if i should be a battery tender or triple tree mini bag+fieldsheer visor holder.

Winterize
Buy the charger. Take the battery out of the bike and store indoor on charge.
Add fuel stabilizer to fuel and run it for a while to ensure it's in the carbs. Fill tank to prevent rust.
Some add oil to cylinders. Some increase air pressure in tires to avoid flat spotting.
Mostly I add the oil before starting in the spring before starting.
I don't increase tire pressure 'cause the bike is on a centre stand. But, I do rotate the front tire about a third turn once a month.
Some wash and wax. Secret is to wash and use something like a leaf blower to "evacuate" all the water. No rust!
Lot's of people have lots of suggestions. Over to you.

All I do is garage the bike, hook it up to the battery tender and put stabil in the tank along with a full tank of gas.

In addition to fuel stabilizer, battery tender (too many, I've got 6 batteries hooked up in the winter!!!) and making sure to keep fuel tank full...
I usually stuff a rag in intake and exhaust, so keep mice from making home in the airbox or muffler.. not likely in the muff I suppose but..just in case ;-)

winterize? nah
there are always at least a few ride-able days each month of the winter. That's enough to keep her lubed and powered up
I refuse to quit riding for 4 or 5 months entirely
if there is no ice on the road, it's doable
but I might get a windscreen

Oh I agree - and those are usually fun (but short) rides! I still like to put the Stabil in there, though, just in case there's a longer lay off than expected.
