Welcome guys-As per our meeting we have this subforum set up for our use. Now is the time to post up. This is open to any rider in the Houston area. Again welcome all. This will give the Houston area an extra option to the Northeast riders group. The folks over there are bunch of great guys also! :D

Thanks for checking us out-just got this setup this weekend. Not trying to compete with the Northside since I like riding with them also. We have some RAT members on the westside that needed a home and since they were utilizing 2 different sites, had a meeting and went to one site so that anyone that wanted to ride could postup. We will be posting up a ride here shortly as soon as I get the rest of the guys on this board. And the aim was to setup a group ride every other week.

I can ride on Sun 11th, there is a Waller Dawgs ride to San Marcos that sounds interesting but wil ck the forum the next couple of days to see if we can get together.

Regarding routes I recently bought the mad maps for texas and it has 3 routes close to houston, Katy, Galveston and up in the forrest.

Found it. Personally I think that Houston and surrounding cities/areas should just be one big group. There aren't enough Triumphs around to split up into areas.

Anyhow, I found y'all and I have subscribed.

Letting everyone here know that HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED and I are trying to round up some riders for a Hill Country road trip in May....

Reason for setting up this site was to move the RAT group that I normally ride off of the meetup.com site and that anyone could post a ride or a comment. Other site was somewhat limited. Not trying to compete with Charlie just needed to find the guys a new home.

Frank and I are meeting at the Pourhouse Saturday May 8th to discuss and map out a plan for a Hill Country Ride on the 21st.

I would say meet us there around 6 ish for anyone who wants to go to Austin or for some good 'ol BS.

Who do we have going so far? Do I understand that SG and Bonneville are in with us? I'll probably be at the Pourhouse by 3 to reserve a table.lol (and warm up my glass)
I figured Ken would want to go.
You know, working nights gets to be a drag. Not much chance to BS and talk. Just work, go home, sleep, and go back to work. Get up early Saturday, feel lousy and have only one good day a week. That's Sunday.
Therefore, I kind of look forward to getting off of work and posting up my words of wisdom. At least it feels like I'm talking to someone before I go to bed. Be yelling at you all real soon. :Devil3

Possible Route

Think we blew it last time. We should stay in San Marcus again, I'll pick the hotel.
Leave out early on hwy 12 west and pick up 32 (el espenoza de diablo) thru Fischer and on to Blanco and Blanco State Park. Short Break and smoke, then, 1888 along the Blanco River to Luckenbach for some photo ops and maybe a cold one.
From there, a shot hop over to Fredricksburg with some bike shots in fromt of the Admiral Nimitz Hotel and Museum, maybe a German lunch and a cold one along with a few cigarettes.
Leave out on 16 going sw to Kerrville. Go west on 39 following the Guadelupe River to Ingram and then to Hunt. Continue on to 83, then south to Leakey for the 336 ride again.( Three Sisters) Leave Leakey going east on 337 to Vanderpool, Medina and pick up 16 back past Bandera 46 east and head to Boerne. Continue on to New Braunfels, 306 N to 12 and back to San Marcus.
Well, Check it out on a map and give me some feedback. It's all great riding, plenty of stopping places for pics, food and drinks. Should take a good days ride to get it in, but, very doable.
Just a thought and we'll all get together and agree on the ride.

I want to make the hill country and am planning on meeting for the planning on the 8th, What time?

I think someone mentioned on the other tread that each one is getting their own room, had not thought about that but it makes sense and its not like we are staying at a fancy n expensive hotel.

Here is another question for you guys : Im planning to take a back pack (got no bags on the bonnie) aside from a change of clothing what should one take on a 2 day trip?

Do you see what I'm talking about? Twelve words and you've used up ten inches of site space. Can you say edit?
So much for trying to teach SG anything.lol
Bonneville, you may want to bring a jacket and tie. Tbo and myself like to go out for one good meal while up there. A t-shirt with a tie drawn on it will do. That's what Tbo wears anyway. Seriously, won't need much. Clothers to ride in all day Saturday, then head back Sunday morning. The only fashion statement that will be made up there, will be my good looking Bonnie. I found that if you park your Bonnie by SG or Tbo's bike, they really look better.
Did anybody read my possible route and see if that would work? Again, just a thought.
Later and good to see a little activity here.
Later.
If San Marcus is ok, I could get room reservations at the econo lodge for about 60 to 70 dollars. 58 for a smoking room. I'ld make reservations if I knew who was going for sure. What do you think?

Bummed in Budapest

I would really like to join you soon but I am stranded in Budapest without a good way home. Flights keep getting cancelled and airports open then close all over Europe. Local travel also booked as people still trying to get around. :confused:Not too much fun. trying to hook up a ride on something locally if I can find a bike.
Be lucky you are in the States!

If anybody wants to carry a wardrobe with them, I'll be trailering my bike up there. My Expedition will hold a lot of shoelaces for Turbo. Plus, when I go out to eat and want to have a few drinks, I'm not worried about having to get on my bike to get back.
I originally planned on riding my bike there, but at my old age, I think that would be too much, plus I hate to run the gauntlet coming back across Houston in the traffic Sunday afternoon.
Good to see a little activity on here. I think we ought to move the meeting up a little. Any thoughts. Just help make geting the rooms lined up and saving a little money.

Are any of you going on the ride to New ulm? If so how about posting up on the other site. A simple I'm in will do and you won't ruffle any feathers.

Move the meeting up to when?? Give us a time and or date.

As much as I'd love to go to New Ulm but I have kid sitting duty that weekend. Hell, thinking about it, I may just pack the kid into the car and drive up there.
