Helmets, and other safety gear is all about being prepared for the “what-ifs”, which is why Shoei incorporates their Emergency Quick Release System (EQRS) into the X-12. This is a set of tabs that allow emergency personnel to quickly and easily detach the cheek pads and remove the helmet without putting any strain on the neck of a rider that could possibly be injured.

For a helmet to vent properly, any air that enters through the intake vents needs a place to go. Shoei placed a large, adjustable, rear-facing exhaust vent on the top of the X-12 for that exact reason.
