The weather's going to be great here Fri and Sat. Pretty windy Fri. Highs in the mid sixties to maybe 70. Lows in the mid forties. Sunday it's going to never really get warm, mid fifties and a 20% chance of rain. Have fun!

Just got back from Arkansas last night.

Heres some info for you. The Talimena Scenic route is very nice. Make sure to have fun on the Oklahoma side because the pavement on the Arkansas side isnt as nice. On the Arkansas side there is a lot of loose road surface in between the tire tracks. Also the places to stop and take pictures are gravel so don't head into them too fast like we did.

The other excellent road we hit was hwy 7 between 298 and hwy 10. Excellent road surface, all kinds of turns. Sweepers, 20-30-40-50mph turns. Lots of fun. We actually thought of turning around after Magazine Mtn and heading back down 7.

Magazine Mtn is pretty to look at, but it has some very treacherous hairpins and lots of stuff in the road. At one point there was a fallen branch blocking the right lane completely. Luckily we got stuck behind some harleys putting up the mountain so we weren't going to fast when we hit the hard hairpin turns.

27 was also pretty nice. It seemed that the roads that cut north/south through the forest were more fun because the cut perpindicular across the ridge line. Basically you would wid up one side of the ridge and wind down the other. The east west roads werent as fun, but you can travel pretty fast on them to get to the fun roads.

I'll get some pictures up sometime.

That section of 7 is okay, but not my favorite road. It only leads me to the best roads. It has too much four wheeled traffic and not enough places to get by them.
I usually run a steady 70-75 pace on it. Very little speeding up or down. The bike thinks it's cruising down the interstate. There are 4 corners that really challenge me at this pace.
I don't know why everybody likes 309 over Magazine. It is one step above a gravel surface. Thanks for backing me up on that.
You misssed the best roads. They're in the Ozarks. Please believe me and travel a little farther North next time.

We will definately head to ozark next time.

This was our first trip of distance and we werent sure how we would hold up after 300 miles. Once we got there we already started planning a trip to Ozark.
