I will be riding from St. Louis to Galena, IL in a month or two, so I look forward to any info on that portion of your ride. From Galena, I'll probably ride into Wisconsin, up to LaCrosse and then back.

Hey, if you do the MS side of the MS river, don't miss Clarksdale, MS, home of the Delta Blues, home of Ground Zero (great Blues club owned by Morgan Freeman and others), the Cat Head museum, and the Blues Museum. Of course, you also should ride through the Crossroads, where the Devil bought Robert Johnson's soul in return for the ability to play the Blues like no one else!

Enjoy!

Please keeps the suggestions coming...

I wrote to all the states that border the Mississippi asking for information on the "must sees" within 20 miles of the river. I was impressed when the good folks from the Minnesota Department of Tourism called me on the phone within three hours of my email. I was also impressed with Arkansas folks who didn't just send pamphlets and maps, but did some real research and send me extensive information on the sections of the state we may be traveling through. But I was most impressed by the 12 pounds of material send by the badger loving folks from Wisconsin and the follow up email offering to send anything else we needed.

Thanks for all the info guys.. keep it coming

Ghosts Along The Mississippi
Sounds like a great journey.
As an extra bonus, the (who else?) Radiators will be playing at the
Minnesota Zoo on Friday June 20th, and for a DADs Krew show on Sunday the 22nd.

Hey TriumphTengu, I might be able to make the Radiators show!

I need the most help with suggested routes in LA, MIS, and ARK. Remember I am trying to stay with in 20 miles of the river.

Best routes from New Orleans toward Baton Rouge area would be appreciated as well. We love the roads less traveled.

Thanks for all the comments.
