Washington's apple orchards are just starting to come out of their winter dormancy. The roads too are just coming into decent shape for riding, as the snow recedes and the sand is washed from the roads by spring rains. Took a little 100 mile jaunt from home this afternoon, along the Wenatchee River, through orchard country (turning into wine country) and up into the still very chilly Icicle River Gorge... It was nice!

The snow-fed Wenatchee River, a tributary to the Columbia. A great steelhead river!

Orchard country, a few miles outside of Wenatchee.

The Cascades seem to leap from the floor of the river valley outside of Leavenworth.

Well up into the Icicle River Gorge, at the end of the plowed road. Snowmobiles only beyond this point!
