Bank holiday breakfast run
7:30am fine spring morning, clear, no wind, what better way to start the day?
North to Farnham, Hog's Back to Guildford, very little traffic because it's a bank holiday and everyone else is lounging in bed. First stop Newlands Corner (just to the right of "Guildford" on the map, photo looking SE from the carpark). Don inner "cold killer" gloves because frankly it's a little chilly out.
Back on the A25, twisty or what, past Shere, through Gomshall then Abinger Hammer before turning off onto unmarked lanes riddled with barking mad joggers in assorted hi-vis kit and ipods to Leith Hill and Ockley.
Join the A29 and blast southerly passing several herds of riders coming north before turning right for Buck's Green and Alfold Crossways, back road over to Dunsfold then up through Hascombe and Busbridge into Godalming.
Out to Milford, gosh that's a long way to hold 30mph, then down though Brook and Grayswood before turning at Haslemere upto Hindhead. Down through Grayshott and Headley and back across to home.
Just the 75 miles and, by the time I got home, the temperature had risen all the way up to 2c. Heated grips before next winter!
