Nice report and photos Dave.

Brings back good memories. The last time I did the breakfast run to Harties was in the late 70's on my Kawasaki 650. No houses around the dam in those days.
I also once did an awesome ride up to the eastern Transvaal around White River, Gods Window, Pilgrims Rest on my Honda 175 XL

Nowadays when I visit SA I go dualsporting in the Cape.
I'm bringing the entire family (wife and two boys, 17 and 19) back for one month in December. With the family in tow don't think I'll be doing any riding, unless of course Harty wants to loan me a bike for a day ride

I have an awesome dualsport adventure planned for June in BC, Canada. It includes an overnight stay on a ferry where we pitch our tents on deck. Lots and lots of dirt in very remote areas with awesome scenery. Will be putting knobbies on the Tiger for this one. Ride report to follow in due course.

Good to hear from you Stan. Yeah, the Dam is fully built up now with weekend holiday homes (mostly enormous mansions!), golf courses & the like. I can't believe you went to ET on an XL175- that is nothing short of heroic. I'll try & work my persuasive manner (it involves the use of a pump-action shotgun of course) on Harty. He's based up here in Joburg BTW. Please post a ride report from beautiful BC during Spring &/or Summer!

Dave.

Hi Gdsila, glad you like it.

More sights along the route:

Big rig for a morning ride!

This is the same balloon as shown earlier. It's massive & the basket holds about 18 people

A stop along the way, with avian's Speed Triple
