"Now we gotta get these Americans, Aussies and English come ride with us down in ET. ?" I dunno. Some of us think it might be better to keep it all to ourselves .

The top one is Long Tom, I think the middle two are either Robber's Pass or Long Tom Pass, but the last pic could be almost anywhere....

Boy, that hippo moves around, LOL.

I'm trying to remember from times as a schoolkid, but I seem to think that a rhino is related to a horse & a hippo is related to a cow . Sounds stupid, but I think that's right.

An aside- the hippo is the biggest human killing mammal in the whole of Africa. But the biggest human killing animal on this continent is the mosquito. Those insects kill many more humans here than buffalo, hippos, rhinos, lions, snakes, scorpions, leopards, spiders, elephants, crocodiles etc. put together do. It's a fun place to live !

Wow! Fantastic country. Thanks for sharing. Not exactly my morning commute. I'm now officially depressed.

So many beautiful places in this world. I need to get out more. South Africa has always been on my list of places to see, but it just moved up a notch. It's just money and time; small matters.

Sorry Whisper, I didn't intend to depress anyone .

In my intro I mentioned that this part of the country is one of the less scenic areas. I hope to visit some of the more scenic regions on rides that I'm planning to do later in the year.

Thumbs up

Dave - nice ride report. Thanks! Looks like they were having a special on those blue Sprints! Great looking countryside and roads.

We need more reports like this here on Triumph Rat!

Regards, Guy

Great report and pictures. There are just too many wonderful places to ride in this world. I wonder if I were to be very, very good - could I come back after I'm dead and ride them all? Nah, won't happen. I'll probably be reincarnated as a salamander.

Catecccio, can you possibly imagine how I feel when I read & look at these wonderful ride reports from places around the world? This Ride Report section is better than any travel prog IMO. I'll never be able to visit these places & all I can hope to do is show folks the world that I live & ride in & I'm happy about it. I think we've got some good stuff here & I'd like to show how we enjoy our biking. It's not a competition; it's just all good IMO.

DaveB,

I couldn't agree more. There are so many unique individuals traveling the world's roads on bikes with the ability to both take fascinating pictures and write excellent prose that I am constantly amazed. I enjoy this section of RatNet immensely. It isn't about the destination, it is about the journey!
