Yeah, keep those Arkansas roads for the locals.

Rt 7 through the Corvette windshield.

A real nice western trip would visit the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. Then go through the four corners area and Jemez hot springs. Through Colorado and across Independence pass.

Seriously though, there are some really great rides in Arkansas. Several members on this site and arkriders can help you plan the best routes through The Natural State as well as help with finding lodging and other necessities.
i have been doing some reading , arkansas will definately be on the route. i am going to come thru alabama, to mississippi(hitting Starkville& Greenwood). then i want to cross the "big muddy" and head to Warren Ark. then up into the Ozarks to Missouri,Kansas,Nebraska, Iowa, the head east and swing south thru rural Ohio.
however, if the weather turns bad. i'll change directions and head for Tx, NM, Ariz Co........

i got a Verizon phone that gives me GPS plus live weather radar.....the possiblities are endless!

More suggestions
Southern Missouri is an extension of northern Arkansas, nice!
Many people like the Flint Hills in Kansas, there were even some ride reports in Rider over the years on that area.
If you're in Iowa don't miss the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa and there are some nice routes to, from, and around the river near there. Again there was a very recent ride report in Rider.
To get from Iowa to Ohio you have to go through Indiana and there is a really nice area around Bloomington.
And then there's plenty of reports out there on southern Ohio. Best thing there is it's almost West Virginia or Kentucky depending which way you go and there are almost no roads in either of those that aren't fun!

Antioch???? i was born in Lake Forest, spent early years in Waukegan.....

i enjoy the fact that i have no goals to meet. my trip will be based on weather and how i feel when i awake....
i plan on camping a lot,so i am sure i'll get plenty more ideas from fellow campers.

Robin

Yup Antioch!
Sounds like a great trip where the journey takes priority over the destination!
Post how it goes and where you went when you do it.

All this talk about Arkansas has got me thinking about it again. I gotta figure out how to get back there again. Only this time I gotta do it on something other than a Heritage Soft Tail!
