Riding with the Chinook

Up here in the Pacific Northwest, the warm wind that melts our winter snow is known as a Chinook. This morning we woke to the sound of the wind and temps in the 40's - a huge change from only a few days ago. By mid-morning the winds had subsided a bit, temps were solidly in the mid 40's and the sun was out. Time to Scramble! The bike fired up readily in the warmer temps and off I went, northbound from Wenatchee WA, on highway 97. A fellow has to use care with the wet streets, a bit of ice and snow still on the pavement in places, and of course lots of sand in the corners. The gusting "warm" wind tossed the bike around a little too. All that said, it was still a great morning for a ride. Paused to watch the eagles fly and fish above the Columbia.

Sorry, couldn't get a good shot of the eagles with my little camera.

Thawed out for a while at Lone Pine cafe, espresso & fruit stand. Very nice stop spot with a great selection of PNW wines, fruits and a very warm wood fired stove. Only put about 75 miles on the Triumph this morning, but it was a fun ride. Spring is right around the corner... Isn't it?

Regards, Guy

Wow - it's warming up quite a bit! Low 40's now, so I took the Scram out for another afternoon ride!

I am enjoying the heck out of this bike!

Great shots! Great looking bike. Looks like you've found some fantastic roads for it! Thanks for posting the pics for us.

I spent some time up that way a couple of years ago. I remember seeing only Harleys when I pulled into Roswell. Weekend guys showing off their bikes. Hey, whatever floats your boat. I'd love to see your bike in among them. You'd get all the comments and looks!
