Thumbs up Hwy 9 and Hwy 1 in California

Well we have just arrived back in NC after taking our honeymoon in Monterey and while there we were able to ride Hwy 1 and Hwy 9 plus some side roads around the area.
On Wed we rode Hwy 1 going into Big Sur it is a great road to ride just for the views and the curves plus the fact that it was during the week and light traffic only made it that much better the bad part was that it got cold really quick due to being so close to the ocean but it was well worth the ride.
Thursday we went to Laguna Seca raceway and then I left and found a road going over a mountain into Carmel Valley and followed it for about 20 some miles without seeing anyone on the road or anywhere else and finally ended up in Soledad California but with the road surface it was more suited for a Duel sport then a TT600 but overall not a bad road.
On Sunday I met up with some local riders from the Moto Italiano Thanks Maurice and Brian if you are reading this who took me on a awesome ride for the day with us starting out from San Jose and then hitting Hwy 9 and going around to Davenport California with some great views and roads in the area we then took another trip down Hwy 9 then headed for San Francisco and ended the ride at Zeitgeist a local motorcycle bar with a 187 miles on the bike for the day.
It was a great trip and I really appreciate all of the help I got from everyone who I met on the way and all of the advice that I recived from everyone giving me suggestions on where to go ride and what to do while there and I would suggest to anyone going to the area if you can find a bike and get a chance go ride these roads they are nothing like the roads we have in NC.

I'm glad you enjoyed our little slice of heaven here on the central coast. Ain't Hwy 1 grand? I ride it from my home (here in SLO) to Big Sur for lunch and back at least once a month. Did you make it south of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park? What a bummer if not. The twelve mile stretch of road between Gorda & Ragged Point (about forty miles south of the state part) is arguably one of the best sections of twisty road in all of California. I'm also glad that you had relatively few cages to deal with. Between the road being narrow and curvy all the while providing one with amazing scenery, the cagers on that road are more scary than usual.
