God's Country

A 360 mile round trip through the Adirondacks of New York state. Old Forge, Eagle Bay, Inlet, Blue mountain Lake, Long Lake, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, White Face Mountain.....etc. etc.

The twisties were great and the scenery was awesome.

They're actually getting had a few black bear sightings IN the village of Cooperstown!

That museum in Blue Mountain Lake in really well done- Worth a stop next time.

The northgeast may not be as other-worldly dramatic as some parts of the west- but we have some beautifuol roads and scenery- God's country is right!!
(Unless you want to get technical- in which case it is all God's! )

Your right....but I think that he visits the Adirondacks much more often.

No black bears sighted that day. I did see Quite a few deer on the South Shore road between Old Forge and Inlet.

A few Weeks ago someone hit a Bear totaling his car on his way home from work just outside of Rome NY. No injuries other than the bear who will make someone a very nice rug.

Funny, I was up there last weekend !
Rode from VT through Lake George, up to Lake Placid/White Mountains, back to VT, down through the Green Mtns to I-89 back to Boston.
The views from the top of Whiteface Mtn is beautiful ! The road going to the top could use a few less bumps !

From the access road leading to the summit of Whiteface Mtn:

Nice photos, I like the highway bars - though I'm a little nervous trying to install myself!

I was a little nervous myself, but the jig really helped with the drilling and just going slow and easy while tapping the holes made everything turn out ok.
