My boss is a new rider. He's had his license and his Harley Sportster for about two weeks. I tried telling him if he really wanted to stand out in the crowd he'd go with a Speedy or a Bonnie America but he was set on the Sportster. Anyway he's been bugging a couple of us to take him on a long ride. He decided he'd like to go to Wendover for lunch. For those who don't know, Wendover sits on the Utah/Nevada border about 120 across the desert from Salt Lake. It's known for two things; the closest casinos to Salt Lake and the Bonneville Speedway. There's nothing special about the ride, it's 120 miles of straight, flat interstate. It's not what I would have picked for his first long ride but that's where he wanted to go. Anyway, here are a couple of pics.
This is I-80 about halfway between Salt Lake & Wendover. Like I said, flat, straight and not much to see.
