Lake Superior Circle Tour (Bonnie and Harley) - 2012

My college roommate from 20 years ago and I took a roadtrip around the big Lake, whose surface area I believe represents 10% of the world's fresh water. On the same day he left his home near Detroit, MI and I left my home from Chicago, IL. Riding north on opposite sides of Lake Michigan, we met up at Sault St. Marie and rode around Lake Superior in 3 days. Here is the first pass on a video of our trip. I would like to thank the RCIA for forcing me to strip all good music from the video thanks to fear of a lawsuit, and exchanging it with not very good copyright-free tunes. In any event, I am the Bonnie rider and he is the Harley rider. The link below takes you to my personal YouTube page. I hope you enjoy it.

Nicely done.....did that section in '07 and also did some vid, but nowhere near as thorough. As for 'first pass'....does that mean you'll add some about the south side....or was it just trees?

Thx for your post. What I meant is that he has all the raw footage, cut it up himself and made this video. He is sending to me all of the raw data and I am going to make a new one. While I like this one, the footage taken from the HD is just too darn bumpy. You can clearly see how much smoother the video is whilst on the Bonneville.

With respect to your question, I do not know what footage he has on the southside, however I know he took some near the Apostle Islands.

BTW - his HD is in the shop again, probably due to all the vibration those bikes make.

Nice video, thanks for sharing it. I live in the Soo myself and am thinking about doing that trip myself.

Nicely done.
You have me thinking about a return trip to Lake Superior in 2013.
Although the riding isn't technically challenging up there, Superior is beautiful and we found all the small towns in MI to be super clean.
