LA loop
Greetings....I took the Street out for a little 3 day jaunt
My kit: Cortech mini-tank bag, Kriega US20 (straps bolted to subframe), Givi saddle bag brackets, Cortech saddle bags and a Crampbuster.
Day One: LA - Idlywild - Julian
Getting out of LA on a Friday is always an adventure in itself, but once you hit Rte 243 all things seem right in the world. Idlywild was just as I remember. The route into Julian was amazing. (See sunset photo)
Day Two: Julian - Borrego Springs - Salton Sea - Joshua Tree - Pioneertown
Blasting out to the Salton Sea is a trip. Research the history of this sad little town and you'll see why it can be an interesting visit. ATV's, dead fish and odd locals abound. Joshua Tree is just peaceful and the perfect backdrop for a sunset cruise. Pioneertown was the perfect ending spot and Pappy's & Harriett's was just the honky tonk watering hole you need after a long day on the moto.
Day Three: Pioneertown - Lucerne Valley - Big Bear - Lake Arrowhead - Wrightwood (ACH) - LA
A quick blast into Lucerne was fun with the exception of one motorist deciding to pass 4 cars in front of us almost colliding with us head on! All in a days work I suppose. Big Bear is majestic. Lake Arrowhead was COLD. And the ACH is my home away from home. Nothing can make me hate that road even a little fog, rain, and cold air.
All this makes me realize the epic riding I have in my backyard that only takes 3 days and about 650 miles to experience and enjoy.
The End.......for now.
J.
