Thanks echoraven and Peaty! The trip was a 2000km trip to Western Norway. I had a wonderfull time. This year, weather permiting I`ll be riding to the north of Norway (The Lofoten islands) A round trip of about 5000 km.

Yes the bike was pretty loaded But a man has to have his creature comforts with him. Riding in Norway, clothes are an issue. you have to be prepared for almost all kinds of climate here. Not having saddelbags, everything has to go on top

How was that long of a ride on the speedmaster? What average length of time did you ride nonstop?

I don`t know any better, so riding the Speedmaster was fantastic I took my time, and was on the road six days (Sounds like a country song doesn`t it) 5 days riding, Averaging 400 km a day. The speed limits here in Norway are pretty low compared with the states, and I kept off the highways. The day started around 10 and I rode until 7 or 8 in the evening, so 10 hours a day. Nonstop at the most I did 2- 3 hours, but not often. Nothing to do with comfort, but just so much to see.

The bike was completly stock, seat and all, it worked for me. Leaving on Sunday on a 5000km trip with the bike, the only differnce being saddlebags, hopefully making packing easier.

Nice! This is all very reassuring because I'm thinking of riding a 746 mile trek to myrtle beach. This translates to 1195 km. This would also be my first "long distance" ride and it's good to hear some info pertaining specifically to the speedmaster! Enjoy the ride when you take it!

750 miles should be no problem. Myrtle Beach, Isn`t that where they have an annual car show? Enjoy your trip, think you`ll find the Speedmaster up to the challenge

I know they have bike week but I'm not sure of the car show. I'm looking forward to riding down although I know it's going to be pretty hot down there in the middle of August!

Been on the road! Came home today, almost 3000 miles on the Speedmaster. Had a great time. Have a good trip Joel, if I can do it, so can you. Lots of people noticed the SM , met a lot of people from all over Europe, mostly on duel sports, got a lot of respect and admiration from other bikers, felt good!
