Yo Gang,

It looks like Herself and I are headed to the Rat Raid at the Gap next Thursday evening. Weather is one of the factors in the final destination of the trip, but we where thinking of then heading to the Ozark Mts. after the Raid. I'm doing some research on the net & Fayetteville AR is having it's sixth annual rally the next week after the raid.

Anyone got some roads/places I shouldn't miss, while on my possible trip to Ozark Mts.??

Freddie

If you are coming from the east I'm not to sure what is on that side of the state, but once you get near central AR head toward Jasper. hyws 123, 7 , 74, 21, 16, 23 are all very twisty 2 lanes. Lots o scenery 16 will take you directly to Fayetteville. If you go through Jasper 123 is a must. If you take 40 across the state (which sux) you can take 23 (aka The Pig Trail) or old 71 at Alma into Fayetteville. On this side of the state I would avoid 40, 412,and 62. Hope you make it this way you won't be disappointed, there are tons o 2 lane back roads in this area. :-D

Shaun,

Everything I'm reading on the internet indicates NW ARK is a great place to ride and thanks for your 2cents on roads to run. Can't wait to get out of Florida and head for the mts.

All interstates are the same on a bike. Sometimes you have to use them. I don't like 65. It's always clogged with slow moving traffic and cops.
374 from Jasper to Mt. Judea and 123 to Pelsor is my favorite ride. There are some really tight corners and no traffic. 123 further on down is still good.
16 from Clinton all the way to 23 is good.
303 from 12 down to Spring Valley is very twisty.
How many miles/hours are you wanting to spend between Memphis and Eureka Springs?
There's a good book on AR roads at arkansasrider.com. Aerostich also sells it. Some local books a million stores have it.
