Headed out into the Dales this morning, here's a few pics along the way.
Went up to Kendal and then into the Yorkshire Dales at Sedbergh.
This is the view across to Sedbergh.
Carried on through the twisties and into the Mallerstang Valley.
This is Mallerstang.
Thanks, Leftarmlogan.
Plewsy, I wish I had known you were over this side, we could have had a ride out. Did you get your passport stamped for this side o't pennines? LOL
Managed a 300m round trip on Sunday, to the Black Mountains of South Wales. Bike ran well, but got a little oil leak off the exhaust rocker box breather.
This is near the Gospel Pass, the opening scenes of An American Werewolf in London were shot a little up the road from here.
A couple more pictures; the destination is the ruins of an Abbey in a narrow valley that runs from Abergavenny to Hay-on -Wye. Apart from being spectacularly beautiful, there is a bar in the basement that serves nice food and excellent beer;
a brief history here;
Llanthony Priory is down the narrow valley in the picture above.
The top of the valley is Hay Bluff;
It is 600ft to the top. In years gone by I could carry a hang glider and gear up there in about an hour. The path is the diagonal line along the face of the hill.
I went there this time last year and got a photo of my Scrambler in the same location;
It's the vintage Triumphs in Britain thread! Great pics, the both of you! Your next assignment is to meet up somewhere and show us a picture of both of those bike together.
Wow, thanks Gump, lovely scenery. What size is that front tyre you got on the bike? Looks pretty chunky
