Battle of Overloon

The wife and I just returned from a trip to Holland, Belgium and England. Our daughter's in laws live about 5 miles from the site of the largest tank battle in Holland and largest Dutch war museum. The fight took place during Operation Market Garden. It has been called the forgotten battle. And of course Triumph was represented in the motorcycle section as was Norton. I did not even see a Triumph in the British Imperial War Museum in London.
We were gone 15 days and only saw 2 Triumphs, I am sure they are out there somewhere. Lots of sports bikes though.

Cool photos, Ray. The Triumph looks like the Steve McQueen jumper in The Great Escape.

I really enjoy military museums, especially those with Triumphs and Nortons! My uncle was at Market Garden, part of the 82nd Airborne.

Very cool pics Ray548! I noticed that Triumph has the Dutch underground colors! Nice!!

Monty et al were up against some of Hitler's best in that one (von Runsteadt and Model).

It sounds like you had a nice trip.

Overloon Harley

Just after I downloaded all the trip photos. I went to the Army website and read a story on a tribute bike a family made for their son killed in Iraq in 06.

Nice story how the picture I took and this story just came together.

I bet that was a fascinating museum; how many of the captions were in English?
