Framlingham & Orford Castles; Suffolk, England

While I am waiting for all my pictures to upload, let me describe this ride to you all...do not worry; the photos will follow as soon as they are done uploading For the British RATS...here is the route that I rode today:

Mildenhall to the A143; rode the A143 down to the A140 and got on that for two miles then left on the B1118. Rolled through the B1118 until the B1116 and straight into Framlingham Castle.

Left Framlingham castle on the B1116 and took that to the B1079 and then to the B1084 that took me into Orford castle. From there I took the B1084 to the A1152 and then to the A12. On the A12 I hung a right and went up the coast to the A144 that cut back into the A143. Coming home I mixed it up and got off the A143 and got on the A1066 into Thetford and then onto the A1075 up into Watton. At Watton I jumped onto the B1108 and "ran" across to the A1065 and then rolled on home. Over two hundred miles and not one single highway!

Now I am not one for sympathy so please do not feel sorry for me; I am just sharing information and I will somehow find a way to get through this. But I barely could keep my Bonnie going in a straight line the whole day today! Sweeping turn here, bending turn there...rolling hill into a left sweep that runs into a hook right where you are forced to double down and speed shift back up after the apex of it. At no point today was I able to put my feet up on the handlebars, slap the auto-pilot on Bonnie and go to sleep. I spent an entire six hours in twisties and bends through forests and into open fields then to the ocean through the hill side of two castles! I know...you all are asking; 'how do you find the strength to press on and keep your riding your Bonnie?' Hopefully you are not shedding too many tears at this point as I will do my best to try to find a way to perservere on and keep Bonnie rolling down the road so that she will not gather rust but it is hard

With that said, today was probably one of the best days I have ever had on a road bike...MY GOD I cannot believe the riding in this country!!! I swear that I almost abandoned my route just to ride the B series roads over and over and over and over again that led to both of the castles. I'm still buzzing so there will be more to come as soon as I get the photos on here...

The pics finally uploaded so here we go...

The B1118

Another set of straight lines to put up with on the B1118

I know most everyone must be thinking that how could anyone enjoy their motorcycle over here but wait...the photos get worse than this!

Bonnie the farm girl:

Another endless bend that never stops on the B1118

And now things get even worse once stuck on the B1116

Arriving at Framlingham castle

A quick coffee at the Castle Inn in front of Framlingham to try to get my spirits up to push off to Orford castle

Onto the B1078 to only endure more misery

My apologies; there actually was a straight part of the road...

Where the 1078 runs into the B1084

More to suffer through on the B1084

Orford castle

Bonnie runs out of land to roll on

Notice the look of sheer agony on my face as I have to suffer through this day...

Some more horrible roads to get out of Orford

How am I supposed to be a tough wanna-be outlaw posing straight up and down while looking around when I have all this turning to do??!!

Finally get on the A12 and start bombing up the coast and realized that I had been riding for over four hours and haven't had anything to eat or drink...and behold...a very cool and unique cafe right on the A12

Bonnie parks in front of the cafe with some other bikes and yes; that is a Yamaha trike next to Bonnie

A sit down meal to a nice and hot English breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans, hasbrowns, stewed tomato, and fried toast...it's not proper unless that toast is fried in my opinion!! I felt my arteries harden with each and every bite and it was delicious!!

Back on the A143 and one last stop for a pint of coke; no stopping after that because the real twisties came out and I was having too much fun to take more pictures

What a brave self-effacing and self-sacrificing martyr you are. Only a glorious quest such as yours could give the strength to endure the many trials and tribulations you faced. You Triumphed over them all in the end. You are indeed a hero of the highest order. Sainthood awaits you. We are not worthy.

(Oh, and nice pics too!)
