Trip To Knoxville, IA from Milwaukee, WI
We go to the Knoxville Nationals every year and this year i decided to take the scoot and meet the rest there. (Nationals are a 4 day World of outlaw sprint car race)
Had a nice rout picked out to take all smaller and as twisty roads as possible. First stop was to fill up with fuel and found my fist sight of racing. Jeg Caughlen's pro stock car at the station.
Second stop was about 5 miles later when i broke my shift linkage on a downshift from 4-3. It broke on the bolt head that threads into the actual shift lever. I limped the bike to Sauk City and of all places i HAD to go to the HD dealer. The hag at the desk refused to help or to get anyone to try and help. So dejected i was sitting outside on the phone trying to find anyplace that could help when a service guy came out to smoke and saw me sitting out back. He came over and was a HUGE triumph fan. Decided to help and did what he could called like 5 places for parts couldnt find any. Then he told me to go down the road to a custom shop because it would be cheaper to have him fab something up.
On i went to Paragron Customs where Ryan helped me out. He jerry rigged it up so it would work. All he wanted was 20 bucks for his work. I gave him more for bailing me out.
After wasting almost 3 hours trying to get back on the road i had to alter the route. I kept the Mississippi River scenic route in and took out the mid state back roads. One picture from the over look and other than that it was all corn fields.
The way home came today In a rain soaked 300 miles to start off the day i didnt get out the camera and didnt bother for the last 100 i just wanted to get home. All in all it was a good trip, and i had lots of fun.
