A friend of my brother-in-law is flying over next week from Ireland to buy a Wing here in Texas, and then riding it to New York for shipping home. He's got about five days to make the ride, and asked about a good touring route.

So far I've got Deal's Gap and the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive. Anyone got any other suggestions and perhaps some detail on how to make the most of the Deal's Gap to Blue Ridge section?

Thanks!

Hurricane Ivan dumped tons of water on the Parkway last year and there are two short sections that are still closed in North Carolina. Here's a link to the Park Service website for more info.
