Description: Motorcycle mounted radar detector alerts are easy to overlook since our focus is directed down the road. This unit has a transmitter which attaches to an Escort/Valentine, and a small helmet mounted receiver which flashes the LED. Simple to install and works very well. You will not miss a signal.

Two negatives. (1) The unit is not waterproof, but then neither is the radar detector. (2) the helmet mounted receiver must be turned on/off manually to save the battery.

Mfg provides instructions which say to modify helmet and mount the receiver inside the helmet. I mounted mine with velcro on the exterior as I do not approve of modifying the interior of a helmet.
Keywords: Helmet mounted red LED to provide radar detedtor alert.

Pros: Simple to use. Easy to install. Works as advertised.
Cons: Unit is not waterproof. The receiver is battery operated therefore needs to be switched off.

Radar detector alerts are easily overlooked while riding a motorcycle. To overcome that deficiency, I routed my radar detector through an Autocom unit to be able to hear the audible alerts. This required me to always connect the helmet headphone cable, which I did not always want to do.

I tried other methods of making the radar visual alert more noticable. Nothing worked until I tried the H.A.R.D. System. You will not miss the red LED when it illuminates. The installation allows you to place the light anywhere in the helmet visor opening that you prefer.

When the detector picks up a radar source a signal is sent to the receiver which turns on the light. You get an immediate notification that your detector is going off without having to take your eyes off the road.
