Picking up a new 2015 Thruxton tonight at Cal Moto. I will be up on Hwy 9 and 35 all weekend breaking her in :grin2:
Test rode a new Bonneville and then Thruxton and just loved the Thruxton. The Bonne is a little "boring". Great super comfortable bike, but just not exciting and since I alread have a 69 Tiger it was just too close to that ride.
The Truxton will be a fun commuter / fun ride for my everyday ride to work and back in traffic.
It is such a fun bike! I am enjoying it very much and may not use my Tiger much now except for longer rides. Even my wife enjoys riding on it too and wants to come along all the time.
I will be riding it this weekend on the DGR in SF. Hope to see you there. We are meeting at Cal Moto Mtv at 8:30 then heading up to SF together.
Next Cal Moto ride is this weekend (Oct 4th) up to north somewhere I hear. Not sure where, but they will post this week. I hope to be along for the ride.
Just did the DGR yeasterday and had a blast. The guys & gals did a great job keeping things moving and safe.
Hey everyone. I have a bunch of stock parts and factory manual from my '02 Sprint ST that was stolen. Not trying to make any money just don't want to throw them out PM for more info.
I live in Sacramento now, but am very often in the North Bay visiting friends/family/backroads. Anyone on here located between Sacramento and Vallejo/Napa/Santa Rosa?
I'm in Valley Springs, about an hour East of Sacto, just at the foot of the Sierras and just on the edge of great two lane twisty m
otorcycle roads. I'm always looking for others who want to go riding. skromfols@hotmail.com
I am out in Santa Cruz, would love to do a shop ride ( CalMoto!).
Any of you on any of the Meetup groups?
I am planning on doing BlackSwan Moto off-road riding clinic this coming weekend (May 14/15th, and then heading back to Maricopa on the 27th for the BMW 49'r Rally, and then to the Touratech West Rally in Wash I think in June ( flying for that one, unless.... )
If anyone in the Sacramento area is interested in group rides you might want to contact Harold@mcclatchyins.com. Harold started the River Valley Riders motorcycle riding group about two years ago. It's an all makes of bike group and we've had some great rides. Most of the rides for this group originate in Sacramento.
Will have to check out the CalMoto ride next time, its raining pretty hard here today.
I am up in Santa Cruz, CA. When I was up at Alices a few weekends ago met a few triumph riders, they had met through MeetUp for the ride. Also met a group of gals before that in Davenport, same deal through MeetUp.
Though I have to admit, I am the pre-meet up generation, I mean you just rode somewhere and you met people and riders.... Funny ol world...
I will be taking my big GS, and I know no one from this group, but I rode 25 a few weekends ago and it is an amazing ride, so its a win ride even if the company turns out not.
I recently went for a ride with the Cafe Racers of the Peninsula meetup.com group. Was a lot of fun! The group is kind of small, but I'm sure there are some other riders here who might be interested in getting together for some fun rides on the Peninsula side.
kbpsime, I'd be interested in meeting up with you sometime. I ride a late model T100 also. I usually go for a leisurely ride up to Four Corners and Alice's on weekends, starting out from Saratoga on Hwy 9. Looks like this Saturday (tomorrow) will be perfect weather for a ride.
I would also be up to get together for a ride. I am in Saratoga and ride up 9 to 84 almost every weekend. Let me know if you have a time/day this weekend and I will try and meet up too. I have a new Thruxton R that needs some miles to break her in
We can rendezvous at around 11 am at "Four Corners" at the intersection of Hwy 9 and Hwy 35 (Skyline Blvd) before heading on. From there we will proceed to Alice's for an ETA around 12 noon for anyone who prefers to meet there. Then, over to the Coast via La Honda and up North to HMB for an ETA at Cameron's Inn (restaurant) around 1 pm. Should be a nice place to have some refreshments and put faces to names here on the forum before heading for home.
This route SHOULD be away from most of the heat if the Sun comes out for a leisurely ride in basically two parts, 1) starting out thru the Santa Cruz Mtns and 2) finishing up along the Coast (Hwy 1) for a total of about 50 miles.
All forum members and friends with other bikes welcome. I'm also a member of the Honda CB1100 forum and posted the same information over there. Please post a reply on either forum if you plan to attend.
Btw, Cameron's is an unusual family restaurant in the theme of a British Pub, but I might ride my latest bike, an all black 2014 CB1100, to put some more break-in miles on it.
