New Zealand looking for US RAT Pack as Friends

Hello

My name is Blair Corkran and I am the New Zealand President of the TOMCC (Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club) We have 600 members in New Zealand and my local branch Canterbury has 200 members. Not bad considering New Zealands population is 4.5 million. Our NZ TOMCC has a sister club in England which is the Yorkshire Rose and in Australia we have the Western Plains club in Victoria. TOMCC is huge in Europe and we have a good presence in Australia and New Zealand but I don't think the US has any TOMCC clubs. Many of our New Zealand members are also RAT members, after all we all ride Triumphs and enjoy the company of like minded people. Take a look at my local branches webpage at http://tomcc.co.nz/canterbury.htm to see our event calendar and how we co exist with our RAT packs by combining runs.
New Zealand TOMCC would like to reach out to the US for a sister club so we can swap info and host members who possibly come to New Zealand or our members to the US. We are a highly organised friendly bunch down here in New Zealand with Chapters throughout New Zealand and we have a beautiful country which is very motorcycle friendly and would welcome any contact with a US based club.

I look forward to any enquiries or questions:-)

Yeah, I am not sure why TOMCC never really took hold inthe U.S.. There are lots of independent British bike clubs, the Norton Owners are well organized, but not Triumph!

RAT here is in a state of flux at the moment. There are several strong branches holding their own. Our group in Charlotte has talked about forming a bond with a pack in Blighty... maybe one in Kiwi too? I'll drop this by the leader.

Drop me a line to fanatic@cyclebarn.com and I will send your our monthly newsletter by e-mail. We would love to have a "sister" club in New Zealand! One of our members did a tour of your country a few years ago and loved it. If it were not for "little things" like jobs and money many of us might move!

Hi Dave

Thanks very much for the reply. I will email you tonight. The New Zealand National newsletters can be found on our web site at http://tomcc.co.nz/triumph_times.htm
I think you will find them most interesting and see we are quite a lively bunch down here in the Sth Pacific.

Thanks Cafetbird

I have a close friend in Raleigh which I believe is close to you guys. I have always wanted to travel the Southern States as I have a very strong interest in the civil war and Blues music. One of my relations Michael Corcoran raised four regiments- made up mostly of Irishmen- known as both the Corcoran Legion or the Irish Legion. Commanding a division in the VII Corps Army of Virginia, he fought Longstreet around Suffolk, VA, in April 1863.
