Midwest Raid

Hello, I would like to get a feeling as to the viability of a Midwest Raid. This event would be located in the Lake of the Ozarks area of MO, being held late July or very early August. If I get the positive feed back that is needed, I'll start making arangments for this event directly after the new year.
Proposed Event Itinerary
Friday night lake cruise mixer(7:00-9:00)
Saturday rides 2 escorted rides (Lead rider guided)
2 on your own rides
All routes would be about 200 mile loops
Saturday night dinner (7:00-9:00)
Sunday Morning farewell breakfast (8:30)
I am open to suggestions and anyone wanting to help with such an event.

Ozarks Raid is always a good one. Another option has been up along the Upper Mississippi in the MN, WI, IA - Prairie du Chein area.

You may want to check this out - I assume they will continue to have this every year...

A tip of the helmet to RAT Leader Mark Wissell and the folks at Team
Triumph for hosting another successful and fun Midwest Ride-In in
Wisconsin last week. I ride out every September and they always make
it worth the trip. They were also able to arrange a rain-free week for
that trip (vs. MotoGP at Indy)!

BTW, I highly recommend a visit to the National Motorcycle Museum in
Anamosa, Iowa. It's much more than a V-twin Sideshow; they have a
boatload of finer rigs there.

I'd post your suggestion in the Pack leaders forum, and discuss it with the new North American RAT Coordinator, Mac Benson...

I knew that Team Triumph had an event in that area, I am wanting to give Triumph owners in this area something to attend and build on. So far the level of excitement and interest for such a event is discouraging. This post was to test the waters and so far I am sinking. I plan to leave the post up, with a decision to proceed or not being made after the first of the year.

I'd definitely be up for it. And living in the Lake Ozark area, I would be happy to help with the planning!

I attended the last Rat Raid up there, and I would sure plan to attend again. I like having it a little later in the summer. I nearly froze riding home on May 15, 2005, from that Raid--42 degrees when I left.

I have a trip to Osage beach planned in about a week. This is to spend some time on route selection and to generally get out of town for a little R&R. MY whole idea with this is to have a fun event for people to meet other Triumph riders and make it a reasonable distance from several major cities. Every raid I attended was over all very fun and enjoyable. With Triumph America bowing out I would like to continue to offer that same kind of event for the central U.S. riders on Triumphs. However to really make it worthwhile and to cover expences I need at least 30 committments and 50 would be a more attractive number to aspire to.

I have just returned from a short trip to Lake of the Ozarks and i have to say it was great! The roads around this area are fun and exciting, with alot of elavation chages and some very challenging corners. This area also offers a huge amount of attractions and dining choices. Personally I am energized and very excited about this event, while I was there i layed some ground work and made some personal inquireries. Now I need everyone interested in this event to respond. After the first of the year I am going to start moving ahead and i will need to have a solid idea of the committment from Triumph owners about their wants and desires for this raid.

We have a name for this little get together. Route 66 Raid, working on some art work designs for the T's. Date is still up in the air, but I am working on getting us something special for the raid, cross your fingers!

I would be up for an event such as this.
Other than the Team Triumph folks in Janesville, I'm not aware
of anyone else organizing RAT events in the Upper Midwest.
