For those of you in the South Sound or anywhere in Western Washington, we have an unsponsored unofficial rat pack ride the second Saturay of each month. We meet at CycleMart in Lacey at 10 a.m. Everyone who rides is welcome, any riding style from slow to fast, as well as any brand (we've had from Ducks to Hardleys along). Feel free to join us.

We are also riding as a group in the Toy Run on Saturday Dec. 4 (same meeting place and time). It's a wild experience to ride in the middle of 5000 mostly very loud bikes.

The memorial service for Mike is going to be on December 30 -- don't know the location or time yet. People are encouraged to ride to the service.

If you look at the dates, that was December 2004.

The unofficial OlyRats still exist. We are likely having New Year's morning coffee at 10 at the downtown Olympia Starbucks which will be followed by a ride (weather permitting). All year around, we meet the second Saturday of the month to ride somewhere in the NW.

In the last year or so, we've done Chinook Pass to Naches and then back via White Pass and Hwy 508. We've been along the coast down to Astoria and have run to Myst. We've looped the Olympic Peninsula. Even in the bad weather we'll go to Centralia via the backroads or cruise around Hood Canal.

Tjose are the types of rides we tend to do. You are quite welcome to join us. You can ride fast or slow, and ride whatever brand of bike you want -- we don't care. We just like to ride and see the area.

On New Year's day, some of us (unfortunately probably not me) are meeting at the Starbucks in downtown Olympia at 10 a.m. to be followed by a ride. The Starbucks is located on Capitol Way across from Sylvester Park -- the park is a whole block, you can't miss it.
