We had ten Triumphs out for this low key backroads ride to breakfast. This was advertised as a strictly legal ride to encourage newer riders, or riders that don't normally ride groups.

We broke into two groups and both were able to stay throttled back for a sane and scenic cruise through the farmland. It was great seeing half our group riding twins, not that I'm partial.

This was the last official RAT ride for 2006, but we'll try and get a couple of unofficial rides like this one before end of year.

Thanks for coming out.

Thanks for setting up the ride on Sunday. It was fun. Meant to ask at breakfast but didn't get the chance: what pipes do you have on that Thruxton? Sounded cool when I was following behind you. - Jeff.

Here are a few of the rides not associated with an event like a show or race. They come from a book written by Rick Federmann called "Escape Austin". It has 28 day rides from Austin.

http://www.cavewithoutaname.com/
$12, groups of 12 or more, $10
Tour takes one hour. 9am - 6pm summer
Bourne Tx, 75 miles one way

http://www.sculptureranch.com/index-intro.html
The Benini Foundation Galleries and Sculpture Ranch
Johnson City, Texas, 45 miles one way
No charge, but call for an appointment

Colorado Bend Loop
Around 180 mile loop
1431, park rd 4, 580, Italian food in Lampasas, back in via Bertram

Ride to Coopers
75 miles one way

Devils Backbone
100 miles

Willow City Loop
100 miles

And here are the rides associated with an event or schedule.

Washington-on-the-Brazos SHS - March 3–4, 2007
This may be early for an official, but I'm going to try and make it out there as an unofficial at least.

March 7-12 Triumph Days at Lone Star
Whats up with this? Demo rides, free stuff, models ...
Meet in the morning for breakfast and a 2 hour ride ending up at Lone Star for demo rides, free stuff, models, watching races and making fun of BMWs. OK, maybe not demo rides...

CRMA TWS - 15 April
http://www.cmraracing.com/schedule.asp
Sun - Mini Sprints / Sprints
Meet for breakfast, ride to the races. Watch the sprint races for a while and head home.

23rd Annual New Ulm Rallye - May 18th - 20th, 2007
www.bmoaonline.com
Twenty five miles east of La Grange. A fun ride out with a couple hours checking out the old iron.

Austin Roadrunners Sunday show - June 3
same weekend as ROT Rally
Known as the anti-Rot rally by some. The show is on Sunday with 40 or so classic bikes on display. Its at Lakeshore, so we meet in Georgetown for breakfast and take the back route into Austin. Some prefer to avoid riding this weekend because of the large number of ROT attendees. But Sunday most are heading home, so it seems fine.

Harvest Classic - October 19-20
http://www.harvestclassic.org/index.html
This should be one of our annual official rides. It is always an excellent show, and there are several fun routes out and back.

CRMA Races in Cresson - August 26
Sun - Mini Sprints / Sprints
This one is near Ft. Worth. Meet for breakfast, ride to the races. Watch the sprint races for a while and head home.

Manditory - Triumph RAID - November 2-4
OK, maybe not manditory to remain in good standing, but this one should be high on your list. Ride in on Friday, spend the evening visiting. Spend Saturday riding the three sisters and checking out Lone Star Mmuseum http://lonestarmotorcyclemuseum.com/ Saturday evening with dinner and story telling. Then Sunday morning breakfast together and head home.
