I'll be in Hastings on Monday as me and the band are playing at The Marina Fountain on the sea front, everybody is welcome as its a biker friendly pub (its even got good beer!)

The weather has been sunny and dry today and it looks like it might be a good weekend.

May day run

Hey guys,

Having finally finshed the house move, I've now got the scrambler back out and am raring for a good run!

I believe there's a run starting at Locksbottom, and heading down to Hastings on Monday, so I'm gonna be on that (weather permitting of course)....

Any wants to meet up at the Oakdene for a coffee first, gimme a shout.

Cheers,

Ian

Ride safe.

Did that once, NEVER again...literally thousands of people, with NO escorts or organization whatsoever, lunatics on Jap Crotch Rockets doing dumb stuff, and lots of accidents...HUGE traffic jams going the last 20-30 miles

If that sounds like your idea of fun, enjoy!

Me? I'd avoid Hastings all together that weekend.

Well I was umming and arring about going ....woke up ....lovely day.....told my wife "just out for a quick ride...20 mins"

Once I got on the A21 it just got nicer and nicer so I kept going! Got there before 10 though and judging by the zillion bikes I passed on the way back it would have got seriously crowded in the Town... it was a new experience having bikes filter both sides of me two abreast along the last bit of the front ..god knows what it was like in a car today in Hastings!!

I have a lovely picture to remember the day by ...once I work out how to post it you can all see why my popularity rating at home has dipped!!!

Hastings

Oh my god, soooooo many bikes..Yes lots of jap bikes doing silly stuff,no staff looking after the event! Its been a May day venue for as long as bikes have been on our roads and still no marshals!!!And cars!! Why bring a car to the sea front on a bank holiday???Shall not be going again, just such a pain.Whent on to Rye after an hour, much better,Quiet, grown up,somewhere to park and get something to eat and drink with like minded people.Nice sunny day...

Wow what a day, Just heard that there were about 30,000 bikes in Hastings yesterday. It was a shame that it wasn't organised a bit better to actually shut the sea front off for the day, maybe next year though!! As soon as I get some pictures, I will post them.
Thanks to all the guys that came and see us play at The Marina Fountain especially all the different clubs that popped in to say hi. Hope you all got home ok after the mad rush.

Thanks again guys

The Mayday Hastings run has always been chaos, the best thing to do is get there very early, or better still, head in the opposite direction.
We normally head into Dymchurch/St. Marys Bay which remains quite empty. There is also a cafe there that does Pie, Mash & Liquor, it's not as good as you would get in London, but it is close enough.
The guy that works in the cafe is a Triumph rider as well.
