Hi Peeps, I seem to remember someone telling me that there was a change in the petrol tank of some sort on the Speed Trip. Can anyone elaborate and explain what the difference is.

The newer S3's have a plastic fuel tank, not sure what year they changed them 06 or 07 but mine is an 07 and it has a plastic tank.

The 05 06 & 07 all have the plastic tanks, some late 07 matte black ones had the new metal tank fitted & all the new 08 models have the metal tanks fitted, hope this helps

I have a matte black 07 and am pretty sure the tank is metal. Not certain, but pretty sure

Triumph went over to metal tanks in 07 as a result of user consultation (they say) so that magnetic tank bags could be used.
